News: The school year is winding down... and that means it's time for summer fun in the outdoors! Summer activities are the quintessential Scouting experience and summer camp attendance offers a number of developmental and emotional benefits for Scouts. For Cub Scouts, there are several Day Camps in our area, a Fun with Son weekend, and six Adventure Camp sessions! Boy Scouts can earn some sweet merit badges from Pathfinders at Scoutland, experience a nationally accredited summer camp at Rainey Mountain, or cool off in Lake Lanier during the Aquatics Adventure Weekend. Older Scouts looking for a special challenge can join the U.S. Army for Ranger Camp. Scouts in the Etowah District will find no shortage of activities to keep themselves active and engaged this summer!

The Etowah District of BSA's Northeast Georgia Council serves Forsyth, Dawson, and Lumpkin Counties. Check out our District Info section for more information!

Northeast Georgia Council was chartered by the Boy Scouts of America in 1935 to provide Scouting programs in twenty-six counties. After years of phenomenal growth, our council now serves more than 25,000 youth in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, Venturing, Exploring, and in-school Learning for Life. Three camping facilities (Camp Rainey Mountain, Scoutland, and Camp Rotary) and two service centers (Jefferson and Lawrenceville) support the youth members and volunteer leaders.
